Elsa Mora (1 of 24 Teacher of the Year recipients city-wide) was honored at a formal ceremony held downtown this weekend. The Teacher of the Year (TOY) Program honors teachers with a strong commitment to their students, school, and the community. The program spotlights positive aspects of education and pays tribute to our richly diverse teaching force. Of the many nominations made, 24 teachers are selected.
Superintendent Carvalho, Board Member Schmerelson, and other district leaders organized a very meaningful celebration for the awardees. Elsa gave a very heart-warming speech at the event. She represented our staff with class and elegance. Congratulations to Elsa!
